I know I mentioned earlier that I love it when the Santa Ana's start blowing (which I do!! They provide so much fresh, cool air)... however, the unfortunate thing about a lot of wind in a dry climate is fire danger. We had such heavy winds two nights ago (gusts of up to 70mph), that I was scared at times the roof would blow off. It was inevitable that a fire would start somewhere. Southern California is now dealing with huge fires in three areas, which are unfortunately burning down several homes and tens of thousands of dry acreage. Nothing has affected us yet, but smoke... last night we camped out downstairs on an air mattress because the smoke seemed to gravitate upstairs into our bedrooms... but I'm not complaining. It's scary to be a homeowner during fire season... people fear fires more than they do earthquakes... So now we have to sit back and hope the wind dies down and no more fires will begin...
Mad props to our firefighters!! They are the real deal in Southern California!!
